Surbana Vision Media and Community Services, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization, which was established to provide a temporary sanctuary to and other services needed by Eritrean immigrants in Libya and elsewhere until they get a permanent solution. These include: In Libya, immigrants who have different problems; women and children with special needs; refugees who cannot get shelter. It has also opened two shelters in Ethiopia and is giving similar services. In addition, it provides vocational and livelihood training to Eritrean immigrants in Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt so as to enable them get better work. It provides moral and legal support to sexually-abused women and stands on their behalf while giving them small scale support; It enables Eritreans refugees wherever they are to communicate with the international humanitarian organizations and get services; It encourages and supports Eritrean artists (scriptwriters and actors) in Africa to contribute in the lives of Eritreans.

Important Notice regarding missing Eritrean Refugee/ immigrants/ citizens.
NB: This project includes to other citizens/ nationalities!

Since year 2000, thousands of Eritrean refugees/immigrants and citizens, including other nationalities are caught in the crossfire in between Eritrea/ Ethiopian war or other causes of conflict, arbitrary detention, disappearances and torture by war actors , human trafficking and smuggling.
They faced with violence, intimidation, and harassment; as a result, they are killed, raped, looted, abducted, and thousands disappeared, and their whereabouts are not known

Hence, this is a genuine appeal for public collaboration on the compilation of information about missing Eritreans across the world.
The information collected would be used to identify the missing persons and report to relevant international Organizations and for due legal process.
The information collected would be employed on carrying out an independent investigation into alleged mass atrocities against the Eritrean civilians. Furthermore, the information would be valuable in holding the perpetrators of human rights violations and crimes against the refugee and immigrants be accountable and brought before justice.
Data collection regarding Eritrean disappearances is still challenging for many reasons. Therefore ‘Surbana, our partners and other humanitarian Organizations request families, relatives, and friends of disappeared citizens to provide information about their families and friends who are still missing.

The objective of this notice, is to collect information to be utilized by the relevant international and local humanitarian organization for legal documentation purposes. The data collected and the identity of informants would be maintained confidential and will not be used for social media consumption.
The information in the message may include the following information
1. Full Name

2. Age, Nationality & Ethnicity

3.Previous Refugee Camp or place Name

4. Date and place of the last sighting

5. Last used Telephone number before missing

6. Photo of missing person

7. Any distinguishing features noticed like tattoos or scars

8. Last sighting hostel, hotel, guest house, or house.

9. Last used vehicle plate number

10. Reporting person, full name, address & Telephone number
If there is additional information and photos regarding people who were with the missing person or any information you think is relevant, you are advised to include the information with the message.

Dear Members of Congress, As members of the Eritrean diaspora and allies, we are asking for your help in urging President Biden to sign an Executive Order, as planned, to urgently increase the number of refugees who can enter the United States in Fiscal Year 2021 to 62,500. Due to the restrictive categories set by the Trump administration’s Presidential Determination (PD), by the end of March only 2,050 refugees have arrived in the US this year. Admissions are the lowest they have been in the 40-year history of the U.S. refugee resettlement program. Shelter
Surbana Vision Media provides shelter for Eritreans in need, with plans to expand to meet increasing needs and demands for newly arriving Eritreans. The two safe houses are "full-serviced" and provide essentials such as meals, clothing, hygiene materials, medicine, and other essential items. The shelters give special consideration to Eritrean refugees and asylum-seekers with particular vulnerabilities, including children who are unaccompanied and separated from their parents, single women with children, and those living with chronic health conditions.

Vocational training
Vocational training provides skills training that can enable Eritreans find safe and better work. Currently, Surbana Vision Media provides, with its local partners, training in woodwork and metalwork for refugees and asylum-seekers.

Advocacy/temporary assistance
Surbana Vision Media advocates to various media, NGO, and inter-governmental actors to ensure refugees in the camps hosting Eritreans in Tigray have access to essential needs, and especially for safety and security during the times of conflict. Surbana Vision Media is also able to provide emergency assistance through inter-agency coordination and collaboration with local actors.
